About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Body Technician to join our Ford dealership's collision repair team. This position is responsible for performing both structural and non-structural body repairs as well as refinishing and paint work on customer and dealership vehicles. This is a combined body and paint position responsible for performing repairs from start to finish, including metal repair, panel replacement, preparation, refinishing, and final quality inspection. We are looking for a motivated technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently in a production environment, and can independently manage repairs ranging from light and moderate collision damage to structural repairs, depending on experience and certification level.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of collision repair and automotive refinishing experience preferred.
  • Experience performing both body repair and paint/refinishing work.
  • Ability to read repair estimates and repair procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • I-CAR and/or ASE certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ford repair procedures and OEM standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform collision repair on damaged vehicles, including structural and non-structural repairs.
  • Repair, replace, align, and fit body panels, doors, fenders, quarter panels, and other vehicle components.
  • Operate frame and measuring equipment to restore vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
  • Weld, cut, grind, and fabricate metal components as required.
  • Prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing through sanding, feathering, masking, and priming.
  • Mix, match, and apply paint and related materials using approved refinishing techniques.
  • Perform blending and color-matching to achieve factory-quality finishes.
  • Apply primers, sealers, base coats, and clear coats according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Buff, polish, and detail repaired areas to ensure a high-quality final appearance.
  • Inspect completed repairs to verify workmanship and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate repair progress with management.
  • Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety procedures.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with environmental regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining productivity and cycle-time goals.
