About The Position

The Ministry Director leads activities for the College & Young Adult group, focusing on their ministerial, religious, and worship needs, as well as their physical well-being. This role aims to build upon their emotional and spiritual foundation for Christian education. The position involves the proper supervision of these ministries for Weekend Services, Wednesday Nights, and Special events, requiring the ability to work collaboratively and effectively across various teams and projects.

Requirements

  • Degree preferred; Religious Studies or similar degree.
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Prefer 3 years experience working with pastoral staff in a Church size of 1,000 or more on staff or as a volunteer.
  • 2 years experience serving in a major leadership role within a local church youth ministry or similar ministry.
  • Must be a member of Trinity Church.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across a variety of teams and projects.
  • Flexibility working around church functions and weekend schedule.
  • Ability to deal with problems efficiently and effectively while maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to supervise, manage, and maintain healthy volunteers.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Service Orientation – actively look for ways to help people in and out of the church.
  • Instructing – Teaching others how to use their spiritual gifts, passions, and talents.
  • Speaking/preaching – The ability to articulate the word of God with Holy Spirit anointing and unction.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, train, disciple, and connect with College/Young Adult leaders.
  • Lead, empower, and equip Group leaders to host and lead Groups throughout the semester.
  • Connect with college students and young adults throughout the week.
  • Create a discipleship process for students by building and implementing bible-based curriculum or materials.
  • Disciple, pray, and participate in College and TYA events.
  • Serve as Pastor On-Call, praying and ministering to church family members in need.
  • Spiritually lead, pray, and minister to team members in need.
  • Conduct hospital visits of team members and volunteers.
  • Administer communion to team members.
  • Lead staff prayer.
  • Assist in planning and administering worship services.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to Administration Staff, volunteers, and the church body.
  • Help maintain, organize, and promote the spiritual and weekly activities of the church.
  • Host Midweek services and connect with college and young adults.
  • Host quarterly TYA/TCM events to bring all groups and those not involved together.
  • Partner with Texas Tech organizations (Christians fraternities, sororities, Chai Alpha, Foundations) to connect with college students.
  • Maintain student organizational status at local colleges and universities such as: Red Raider Orientation and Foundation Camp.
  • Manage social media accounts and TYA/TCM website.
  • Work with Student Ministries Team on events and services for TSM and 56.
  • Provide resources to group and discipleship curriculum.
  • Work with Generations Pastor regarding budget, events, missions, conferences, internships, trips, and meetings.
  • Participate and support other ministry events.
  • Weekend service responsibilities: connect with college students, young adults, and address any other needs over the weekend.
  • Heavily involved in weekly gathering for this age group: coordinate setup, order of service, stage design, AVL, leaders, and speakers.
  • Collect weekly connect cards and enter them into Touchpoint.
  • Plan all services and submit the order of service for group gatherings.
  • Contact the Ministry Leadership Team and Group Leaders via email or electronically with weekly announcements and information.
  • Provide weekly report of service and Group attendance to Generations Pastor on a regular basis.
  • Maintain weekly Service Team responsibilities.
  • Follow through and execute on big ministry ideas and adhere to expectations set by Generations Pastor.
