College to Corporate IT Internship-Application Development (PA)
About The Position
Launch your career in technology with Vanguard’s College to Corporate (C2C) Internship Program. As an intern in this space, you’ll gain hands-on experience building and delivering impactful technology solutions that support our mission to give investors the best chance for success in areas such as web, mobile, and/or application development. This immersive internship combines real-world project work, mentorship, and structured development to help you grow your technical and professional skillset while building leadership skills through ownership of work, collaboration, and real-world impact. You'll build high-impact solutions that allow Vanguard to perform at its best and do what’s right for investors through exciting assignments.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (required)
- Strong interest in application development, including web, mobile, or backend systems
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and/or leadership aspirations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Nice To Haves
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance applications that support Vanguard’s internal systems and client-facing platforms
- Participate in the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, and deployment
- Work with modern technologies and tools in an Agile/LEAN team environment
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and business partners to deliver impactful solutions
- Contribute ideas, solve problems, and drive outcomes both independently and as part of a team
- Build connections with peers, mentors, and leaders across Vanguard
- Receive ongoing coaching and feedback to support your development
