About The Position

The President provides effective leadership in planning, organizing, budgeting, selecting and developing personnel, and assessing institutional effectiveness. Also works with the Board of Governors, Board of Directors, Senior Leadership and the Executive Council to ensure the quality, short and long-term profitability, and growth of the College. This role requires 30% travel.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook; networking and systems engineering, and master proprietary software used in student and employee records.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and fulfills the College’s mission
  • Provides leadership in setting and communicating expectations of educational excellence and integrity throughout the institution
  • Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership and Executive Council
  • May serve as a member of the Board of Governors
  • Assures support for the effective operation of the institution
  • Assures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Implements and administers board policies
  • Acts as a liaison between the board and college administration
  • Oversees and evaluates the institution’s administrative structures [i.e., Senior Leadership, Executive Council]
  • Delegates authority to administrators and others consistent with their responsibilities, as appropriate
  • Guides institutional improvement of the teaching and learning environment by establishing a collegial process that sets values, goals, and priorities, ensuring that evaluation and planning rely on high quality research and analysis on external and internal conditions, ensuring that educational planning is integrated with resource planning and distribution to achieve student learning outcomes, and establishing procedures to evaluate overall institutional planning and implementation efforts.
  • Effectively controls budget and expenditures and assures fair distribution of resources to support the achievement of the mission
  • Works and communicates effectively with the communities served by the College
  • Regularly evaluates governance and decision-making structures and processes to assure their integrity and effectiveness in assisting the institution in meeting educational goals.
  • Assures that the results are widely communicated and are used as the basis for improvement.
  • The President has oversight of the Senior Leadership Team who supervise employees in the Administration, Accounting/Finance, Academic Affairs, Facilities/Purchasing, Human Resources, Graduate Services, Information Services, Admissions, and Financial Aid departments as well as the Campus Directors/Presidents.
  • The President is also responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
