Transmission Generation Operations is seeking a technical college intern to assist managers and operators with a variety of tasks supporting real-time operations and operational improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting data analysis, tracking operational events, assisting with reporting tools, and contributing to projects that enhance grid reliability and performance. The intern will gain exposure to both transmission and generation operations and support cross-functional team efforts. The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

Requirements

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook
  • Exceptional writing skills and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to structure and manage content effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with strong accountability and ownership of assigned tasks
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a hybrid or telework environment

Nice To Haves

  • College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills. Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.

Responsibilities

  • Research, track, and update operational and performance data to support system reliability and improvement initiatives
  • Assist with analysis of operational events, including Human & Operational Performance (HOP) submissions and trend tracking
  • Support development of reports and tools used for performance monitoring and decision-making related to Reliability Coordinator integration and operational improvement projects.
  • Support project management activities, including tracking milestones, deliverables, and action items
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across transmission and generation operations
