About The Position

SRP is seeking a motivated College Intern to support our teams while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. This internship offers students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects that support SRP’s commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable water and power services. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and develop technical and professional skills relevant to their field of study. The role is designed to foster learning, teamwork, and innovation while providing exposure to SRP’s operations and culture. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are eager to learn, grow, and make an impact while exploring a future career with SRP. The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • The Student Intern Program requires participants to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
  • Scheduled hours may vary based on departmental needs and hiring manager’s discretion, provided hours worked remain within the 15–40 hour weekly range.
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Currently, SRP does not sponsor H1B visas, OPT, or other employment-related visas.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred degree/area of experience includes safety, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, construction, or engineering.
  • College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills.
  • Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling, data entry, document preparation, filing, and other day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Gather information, compile data, prepare reports, and help identify trends or opportunities to support departmental goals.
  • Support ongoing projects by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and helping team members meet deadlines.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, contribute ideas, and work collaboratively with employees across various departments.
  • Take on learning opportunities, complete assigned projects, and present findings or recommendations to supervisors as appropriate.
