SUMMARY OF POSITION Under general supervision of the Division Manager, or designee, this position provides the opportunity to perform a full range of duties related to the functions of the Department. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects that align with your interests and career aspirations. Your role in the group is an important one, your work is taken seriously, and you are counted on as a contributing member of a team. This internship will culminate in the implementation, as practical, and presentation of a final project that will contribute to both the City of McKinney and your academic and professional development.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program at an accredited college.
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment and computer programs, such as word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in special projects as assigned.
  • Support the Neighborhood Engagement Administrator by developing a public outreach/engagement plan for multifamily developments (includes data collection, research, and report writing).
  • Support the Affordable Housing Administrator by researching potential properties for potential affordable housing/infill/land banking projects (includes data analysis, research, and report writing).
  • Assists with researching local, state, and national programs, policies, etc. to ensure our department is at or above standard.
  • Complies with all written City policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in City and department attendance policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
