The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Third year undergraduate student preferred
  • Preferred Majors: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical Engineering
  • Interest in a future career in the power industry preferred
  • College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Currently, SRP does not sponsor H1B visas, OPT, or other employment-related visas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research of new Electric Utility technologies
  • Update the Innovation and Development department website
  • Contribute innovative ideas to the group
  • Organize meetings between various departments and assist with project scope development
  • Calculate and analyze cost-savings and energy-savings for new technologies
  • Write research summaries and environmental updates for department newsletters
