College Intern - Data Science
About The Position
This is an entry-level position for students currently enrolled in college for Data Science or Analytics or a related program. This position involves learning routine tasks related to the management of the Smart Grid System, or various other utilities-related tasks. Additionally, this position receives training and performs a variety of analytical and administrative activities in support of the City’s Smart Grid initiatives. Work is performed under the direction of a supervisor or senior staff and checked upon completion to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness. This internship is with Lakeland Electric Smart Grid Department at 501 East Lemon Street in Lakeland, FL. Interns will work a maximum of 30 hours a week. This position starts in September.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a degree seeking program in an accredited college or university in Data Science or Analytics or a related program

Responsibilities
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting of utility related data
- Assist in developing and implementing analytical and reporting methods
- Perform related work as required
