About The Position

Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned College Financing Coordinator to support its After-School Programming. This role is part of the Wealth Builds team and reports to the Director of College Financing. The coordinator will focus on financing HCZ scholars’ college education through increased college savings and scholarships, developing savings habits among children and parents, and promoting a college-bound identity. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal teams, scholars, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in program coordination, providing college-related services, student services, and administrative support.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and data management tools (Salesforce experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Commitment to HCZ’s mission and passion for supporting college access and financial empowerment.
  • Excellent project management with attention to detail, and outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the administration of college financing programs, including scholarship and savings initiatives serving approximately 1000+ scholars annually.
  • Manage scholar communications and maintain accurate tracking of applications, awards, and inquiries using Salesforce, Microsoft Suite, and Google Workspace.
  • Support the planning and execution of 12–15 workshops and events per year, including financial literacy sessions, scholarship orientations, and parent engagement meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on scholar progress, participation rates, and program outcomes for leadership review.
  • Collaborate with HCZ departments to ensure timely follow-up with scholars and families, maintaining a response turnaround of 48 hours for inquiries.
  • Assist in outreach efforts to strengthen relationships with community partners and financial institutions.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Director and Assistant Director, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Monitor program data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in scholar engagement and financial readiness.
