College Financial Aid Advisor - Poquoson High School
About The Position
GRASP has an opening for a part-time college financial aid advisor to work at Poquoson High School during the school year. Advisors are assigned to a particular school 1 day per week during the school year. All training is provided: 2 – 4 days per year in Richmond or virtually. A GRASP Advisor provides individualized advising to students and parents regarding how best to pay for post-secondary education. This Advisor would join with all staff in GRASP’s continuous development work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion - with those efforts directly furthering GRASP’s mission. The usual candidate has a heart for helping students, is committed to the community, and understands the confidentiality of student information.
Requirements
- A college degree is required.
- A background check is required as this position will work directly with students in public schools.
Nice To Haves
- Prior expertise in college financial aid is not required as all necessary information is provided in the training program.
- Familiarity with language(s) in addition to English would be beneficial, but it is not a requirement for this position.
