About The Position

Regis Jesuit High School is seeking a College Counselor to begin in August 2026. College Counselors are placed on the Faculty Salary Scale, based on education level and years of experience (scale ranges from BA, Tier 1: $55,215 to MA45, Tier 30: $107,095) and is eligible for full benefits.The College Counselor serves as a member of the College Counseling Team and supports students and families through all aspects of the college search, application, and transition process. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and a commitment to the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit college preparatory high school. Successful candidates will possess broad knowledge of colleges and universities nationwide, including academic programs, admissions policies, and financial aid processes. Knowledge of standardized testing and data interpretation is preferred. The position requires an individual who values relationship-centered work and can provide meaningful academic, personal, and spiritual mentorship to students and families within a diverse and dynamic school community.

Requirements

Capable of working collaboratively.
Able to communicate clearly with students, parents and administration.
Willing to be an important part of updating the vision and continuing the mission of Regis Jesuit.
Experience in college admissions or high school college counseling (at least 3 years) strongly preferred.
Necessary skills include excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines.
Computer skills and experience with specific college counseling software.

Knowledge of standardized testing and data interpretation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage a comprehensive caseload of students in the junior and senior classes, providing individualized college counseling support to students and families throughout the college search and application process.
Conduct individual and group meetings with students and parents/guardians, including: Junior conferences during second semester, Senior meetings during fall semester, Workshops and IMPACT classes for juniors and seniors, Participation in College Counseling programming including College Night, Underclassmen College Awareness Night (UCAN) and related programming.
Educate students and families about college options, college admissions, application procedures, financial aid, testing, and current trends in higher education.
Develop personalized college lists and provide resources aligned with students’ academic, personal, and vocational interests.
Write individualized letters of recommendation for seniors using information gathered from students, families, faculty, counselors, and school records.
Submit required application materials and supporting documents for seniors in a timely and accurate manner.
Address issues and concerns that arise throughout the college application and decision-making process.
Maintain ongoing communication with school counselors to support student success and wellbeing.
Utilize the school’s college counseling platform, SCOIR, to guide students and families through college research, application tracking, communication, and postsecondary planning, while managing accurate student records, application workflows, and timely document submission.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and facilitate curriculum to students related to college exploration, application processes, and post-secondary planning.
Assist with the planning and implementation of college counseling programs and events throughout the academic year.
Maintain an area of specialized expertise (e.g., highly selective admissions, NCAA eligibility, military pathways, visual/performing art programs, international post-secondary pathways, scholarships, etc.) and serve as a resource for students, families, and colleagues.
Maintain regular communication with students and families through email, newsletters, and college planning platforms.
Respond to phone and email communications in a timely manner.
Support maintenance of college counseling communications to students and families, including website resources.
Assist in updating the annual school profile and college counseling publications.
Help coordinate and administer the SAT test that is hosted on the Regis Jesuit campus.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleges through campus visits, conferences, professional associations as approved by administration.
Support programs hosted on campus, including college fairs, regional counselor tours, and special informational events. This includes the Jesuit Excellence Tour, the Catholic College tour when it’s held at Regis Jesuit, and other potential requests as needed.
Host college admission representatives visiting campus and coordinate student engagement opportunities.
Serve as a liaison between students, families, and college admission offices.
Participate actively in the life of the school through committee work, club moderation, coaching, retreats, immersions, etc.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about current college admissions practices, trends, and student support strategies.
Maintain membership in the JHSCCA and NACAC.
Collaborate as a reflective, Ignatian educator committed to lifelong learning and best practices in Jesuit education.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of College Counseling, Assistant Principal for Student Support, and/or Principal.
