About The Position

Ivy Tech is seeking a College Connection Coach to collaborate with Vanderburgh County schools. The main objective of this role is to build relationships with high school students, guiding and encouraging them towards college enrollment and successful degree completion. The College Connection Coach will develop and implement outreach initiatives and dual credit programs within Vanderburgh County. This position will offer college and career guidance to high school students aiming for employment or a four-year degree after completing a Technical Certificate or Associate Degree. The Coach will also work with Academic Affairs to coordinate dual credit opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
2-4 years related experience in advising, career counseling, recruiting, or other student service related job
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Proven ability to initiate and balance multiple work projects
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

Nice To Haves

Experience in K-12 or college-level preferred
Training, or teaching experience with young adults preferred

Responsibilities

Responsible for student recruitment by identifying high school juniors, seniors, or graduates who are college-bound.
Provide one-on-one coaching that supports college attainment and career exploration and complements services that may be available through high school, college, or the community.
Utilize community resources that support student access and success in college.
Develop and convene regularly scheduled small group sessions for students throughout the academic year. These sessions are structured as informal group check-ins and as workshops designed to help students navigate the college environment, access resources, and build a network of peer support. ( i.e. program specific groups, financial aid workshops, ACT & SAT information, ACCUPLACER information)
Enroll students in dual credit courses, input SAT/ACT scores, input GPA, etc.
May provide support for employer partnerships.
Coach students on the transitions from high school to college to work.
Implement student career workshops, which may involve on-campus activities, tours, industry visits, and other experiential learning opportunities.
Develop and deliver annual orientation for new student participants and a summer series of college preparation and team building workshops.
Maintains accurate records and collects and enters required information and case notes for each student in the coaching cohort, including regularly updated student contact information, and academic progress.
Develops required reports.
Participate in ongoing tracking of outcomes, evaluation of services, and program development as part of the postsecondary team and the EVSC.
Must stay current with Ivy Tech programs, admission and registration processes, career and higher education trends, and requirements of the Indiana Department of Education.
The Coach will attend Ivy Tech meetings, training sessions and other activities as necessary.
