About The Position

Aug Prep is more than a school; it's a community where excellence, faith, and holistic education come together. We’re not only about high standards but also creating a place where people love to grow, learn, and inspire! We currently serve over 2,400 K4-12 students in our ninth year at our South Campus. We are thrilled to launch our North Campus in the 26-27 school year, initially serving about 300 students in grades K4-6 and 9. In This Role, you will guide students and families to resources and opportunities that promote the pursuit of, and persistence through, best-fit postsecondary pathways while helping manage the College & Career advising team. Role Differentiation The College & Career Advising Manager maintains direct student advising responsibilities while also coordinating advising practices, supporting team alignment, and maintaining key systems that support the broader College & Career program.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in college advising, counseling, or postsecondary guidance preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with student data systems such as SchooLinks preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the program coordinator to ensure advisors have necessary resources and partnerships for future-ready post-secondary experiences
  • Build a network of college and community organizations that recognize and value the abilities of Aug Prep students.
  • Work in tandem with faculty and administration to ensure the college and career program aligns with the school’s broader strategic goals.
  • Help build and manage systems and structures that allow the College & Career advising model to grow and scale as the school expands.
  • Support and advise students in college and career exploration, academic progress, and life skills development, including regular 1:1 advising sessions.
  • Guide students through college applications, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid processes.
  • Create and carry out an annual college and career family engagement plan tied to key milestones and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely student submission of all program and application materials to the appropriate institutions and programs.
  • Facilitate advisor collaboration, team alignment, and shared planning across grade levels.
  • Serve as a peer leader and mentor to new advisors, leading onboarding and training during the academic year.
  • Help ensure advising practices, systems, and expectations remain consistent across the advising team.
  • Coordinate advising calendars and milestone timelines related to college applications, financial aid, and postsecondary planning.
  • Collaborate with the program and alumni coordinator to create and facilitate workshops, group sessions, and informational meetings to support future-readiness.
  • Develop & lead professional development for teachers related to academic and career planning.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, faculty, and external partners in order to support student success.
  • Leverage systems such as SchooLinks to track student advising interactions, postsecondary plans, and career interests.
  • Maintain accurate records of advising meetings, program participation, and student milestones.
  • Analyze student and school-wide data trends to help guide advising strategies and student support.
  • Support National Student Clearinghouse data migration and roll-up within SchooLinks.
  • Prepare transition plans to support students moving from 8th grade into 9th grade during the summer.
  • Maintain advising systems, resources, and planning calendars throughout the summer months.
  • Support program review, system improvements, and preparation for the upcoming school year.
  • Lead planning and development of College & Career Fair
  • Lead and coordinate the Future Ready Program beginning Summer 2027.
