About The Position

Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS) is seeking a highly qualified and visionary College Advising Director to lead our comprehensive college guidance program. This pivotal role involves guiding high school students and their families through the college preparation and application process while fostering a deep understanding of God’s unique calling for each student. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic initiatives to ensure students achieve their academic, spiritual, and career aspirations.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated success in college advising, counseling, or leadership roles, with strong expertise in college admissions, standardized testing, and scholarships.
  • Must have the ability to work in cooperation with all levels of management, support staff, personnel, church leaders, volunteers, members, and guests to fulfill the mission of Indian Rocks. Perform other responsibilities as directed by the Church Administrator as needed.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with college guidance platforms and tools for program management and reporting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational abilities to engage effectively with students, families, and college representatives.
  • Commitment to Mission: Deep alignment with Christian values and a passion for discipleship, consistent with the mission of Indian Rocks Christian School.
  • A collaborative, supportive leader who shows humility, drive, emotional intelligence, positivity, and loyalty to the IRCS vision and mission
  • Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
  • Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the; the Mission, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks
  • Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, commitment to systematic stewardship, and faithful in tithing.

Responsibilities

  • Graduation and College Preparation Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive, step-by-step Graduation Plan (Grades 6–12) to prepare students for post-secondary opportunities, focusing on academic readiness, skill-building, and spiritual growth.
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Organize an annual College Fair featuring public, private, and faith-based institutions. Host individual college representatives on campus multiple times per week and curate a year-round calendar of engagement events.
  • Technology Integration: Implement and manage modern college guidance technologies to enhance the college preparation experience for students, families, and staff.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate, detailed records of college applications, acceptances, scholarship awards, standardized test scores, and postsecondary commitments. Use data insights to inform program improvements and reporting.
  • Celebratory Initiatives: Design and execute promotional campaigns to celebrate student milestones, including college acceptances, scholarship achievements, and exceptional test performance.
  • Individualized Student Support: Provide personalized counseling to 100% of graduating seniors, ensuring they have clear, actionable plans for college applications, scholarships, and career pathways.
  • Parent Engagement: Develop and lead parent education workshops to equip families with knowledge and tools for navigating the college admissions process.
  • Spiritual Leadership: Guide students in discerning God’s calling, encouraging them to pursue academic and career goals that align with their faith and values.
  • Testing Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on-site ACT and SAT testing to support student success in college admissions.
  • Credit Audits: Implement a systematic approach to conducting credit audits for current IRCS students to ensure they meet all graduation requirements.
