About The Position
The Operations Lab Repairs and Maintenance Unit is seeking a College Aide to assist with office duties. This is a part-time position (25 hours/week) supporting the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's mission to protect and promote the health of all New Yorkers by providing comprehensive building services through multiple building trades responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the agency's owned and leased sites. The NYC Health Department, established in 1805, is the oldest and largest health department in the U.S., dedicated to safeguarding the health of every resident and cultivating a city where everyone can achieve their optimal health. It offers a wide array of programs and services and serves as a global leader in public health innovation and expertise.
Requirements
- Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
- Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
Nice To Haves
- Specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study (for Assignment Level II and III).
Responsibilities
- Enter data into the Facility Service Request system.
- Update and file records and documentation.
- Verify data/documentation for accuracy.
- Provide office support including typing, data entry, copying, faxing, filing, and emails.
- Prepare correspondence.
- Answer phone calls and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
- Distribute inter-office mail.
- Assist with various projects upon request.
- Perform related duties as directed.
