Breakthrough Summerbridge (BTSB) is an intensive academic enrichment and advocacy program founded in 1978. Its mission is to prepare ambitious students from under-resourced circumstances to enter and thrive in well-matched high schools, with the ultimate goal of securing admission to, succeeding in, and graduating from college. The College Access Program (CAP) is a four-year (9th-12th grade) enrichment program that expands access to information and resources regarding college admissions for BTSB students who have completed the middle school program. CAP collaborates directly with students and families to enhance college preparedness and admissions. The College Access Program Associate will support the Program and College Access Manager (PCAM) in developing and implementing programming for high school freshmen during the school year. The Associate will utilize their own experiences and knowledge to create programming and provide individualized support to students transitioning into high school. This part-time role involves synchronous work, including facilitating in-person student-facing workshops, conducting individual student and family meetings, and attending meetings and check-ins. It also includes independent, project-based work such as creating and updating resources, preparing for workshops, conducting student/family outreach, and tracking student outcomes and data.
