About The Position

As a Collector I, you'll play an important role in supporting our members through challenging financial situations while helping protect the credit union's assets. You'll work directly with members to resolve delinquent accounts and create solutions that meet their needs - all while delivering Remarkable Member Service.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
6+ months of First Commerce experience or 1+ year of collections experience, preferably within a financial institution.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Serve as a key point of contact for members with past due or negative accounts; connecting with them by phone, email, or in person to understand their situation and provide solutions.
Monitor delinquent loans and arrange repayment plans.
Document collection activity.
Perform account research.
Ensure member records are accurate and up to date.
Support administrative processes like processing payment arrangements, preparing notices, assisting with credit reporting, and ensuring documentation is complete for accounts moving toward legal or recovery actions.
Build positive, respectful relationships with members - approaching each interaction with professionalism, discretion, and care.
