About The Position

A highly respected Credit Union is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team and play a key role in supporting members through the mortgage delinquency and resolution process. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent benefits, work-life balance, and a hybrid work schedule. As a Collections Specialist, you'll manage delinquent mortgage and consumer loan accounts while working closely with members and internal partners to identify solutions and resolve account issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of collections experience within a Credit Union, Bank, Mortgage Servicer, or Financial Services organization
• Experience managing delinquent mortgage accounts
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and applications
• Strong attention to detail in a regulated financial environment

Responsibilities

• Managing delinquent residential mortgage accounts throughout the collection lifecycle
• Contacting members to discuss payment options and establish repayment arrangements
• Supporting loss mitigation and workout plan activities
• Coordinating foreclosure-related processes with attorneys and legal partners
• Assisting with bankruptcy proceedings and related account management
• Managing deceased member accounts and estate-related claims
• Maintaining thorough documentation and account records
• Ensuring compliance with banking regulations, policies, and servicing guidelines
• Partnering with attorneys, title companies, and internal departments to resolve complex account situations
• Working across multiple servicing, lending, and collections systems
