About The Position
The Collections Equipment Operator assists with the operation and maintenance of a vactor truck, including maintaining fluid levels, greasing fittings, and ensuring proper electrical function. This position is assigned to pay grade G12 and supports daily combined sewer cleaning operations. The role includes an on-call rotation requiring a response within 30 minutes of notification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of collections equipment or construction work experience, or experience in a related work field.
- Possess or be able to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.
- Hold an NC Class B CDL with tanker endorsement, or be able to obtain it within one year of employment.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond within 30 minutes of notification.
Nice To Haves
- NC Grade 1 Collections certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily combined sewer cleaning operations.
- Locate sewer manholes and cleanouts.
- Set up safe work zones.
- Clean sewer mains and locate areas requiring cleaning.
- Maintain traffic control around the vactor truck.
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
