About The Position

We are looking for a Collateral Management Operations manager, who has at least 5 years of experience of middle office collateral management, able to lead a team of 3-5 to run the operation of Collateral Management for our client. You will interact internally with Global Delivery Middle Office Operations teams as well as the Client Middle Office Operation teams and Operation Oversight Managers to complete the collateral management and processing for assigned portfolios. The candidate must exhibit a strong understanding of Collateral Management Operations specific to Bilateral OTC, Cleared Swaps, Exchange Traded Derivatives, TBA, Repo, dispute resolution, fails management, and reconciliation. The role will be based on State Street Irvine office and traveling to the client office at downtown Los Angeles in short term is also required.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience of middle office collateral management
  • Able to lead a team of 3-5 to run the operation of Collateral Management for our client.
  • Strong understanding of Collateral Management Operations specific to Bilateral OTC, Cleared Swaps, Exchange Traded Derivatives, TBA, Repo, dispute resolution, fails management, and reconciliation.
  • Self-Starting, meticulous and detail oriented
  • Ability to organize complex data into digestible ideas and manage team organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to evaluate a detailed workflow process and work with business stakeholders to develop and improve processes, including prioritization and execution of initiatives
  • Ability to handle stress and tight deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 5+ years of work experience with direct experience in Collateral Management, Custody Operations or Derivative Operations

Nice To Haves

  • CFA and MBA are a plus
  • Proficiency with Aladdin, TriResolve, and Acadia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the daily collateral processing, margin exchange, and be able to cover the daily process, including issuing and responding to margin calls, if needed.
  • Lead the team to resolve the collateral dispute.
  • Lead the team to monitor and refine the reconciliation, identify and manage the collateral settlement fails in a timely manner.
  • Establish checklists, procedures and best practices for collateral management team associates.
  • Coordinate team activities including problem resolution, coverage and escalations
  • Train the team on core skills and knowledge to be successful in collateral management operations
  • Provide inquiry and operational support to internal and external clients on collateral management functions on behalf of the team
  • Work independently and with the team to establish firm and well-tested controls and procedures
  • Implement and support client-specific service requirements; understand the client’s operational process and enhances the service accordingly
