About The Position

Mantra Health is dedicated to transforming student mental health care by partnering with universities and colleges nationwide to provide universal access to high-quality mental health services. Since 2018, we have developed a comprehensive treatment service for young adults, securing over $34 million in funding. Our programs have significantly helped students remain in school, offering teletherapy, wellness coaching, and tele-psychiatry. We are seeking a Board-Certified Collaborating Psychiatrist to join our psychiatry team as a 1099 independent contractor. This role involves collaborating with Tennessee-licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) to ensure evidence-based psychiatric care for college students. Additionally, the role includes providing 2 to 4 hours of direct clinical care per week to expand psychiatric service access for students.

Requirements

  • Board-Certified MD or DO Psychiatrist
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Tennessee (TN).
  • Available for 2-4 hours of clinical work a week.
  • Willing to be licensed in states where Mantra has customers contracted for psychiatrist service (starting in MA, NY, FL, and PA).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a collaborating physician for Tennessee-licensed PMHNPs in accordance with state regulations.
  • Work alongside our Director of Psychiatry to manage operational policies, clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and chart review processes for your assigned providers.
  • Conduct monthly chart reviews and patient chart audits for each collaborating PMHNP, ensuring compliance with state requirements.
  • Complete a minimum of two patient chart audits per semester for each collaborating PMHNP (or as required by state regulations).
  • Evaluate documentation, treatment plans, prescribing practices, and clinical interventions to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in monthly one-hour collaboration meetings with collaborating psychiatrists and PMHNPs and periodically facilitate these meetings.
  • Host in two in-person supervision meetings annually with the Tennessee PMHNP team.
  • Fulfill all state-specific collaborating physician requirements.
  • Provide 2-4 hours of direct psychiatric clinical care each week in the following states: MA, NY, FL, PA.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment and independently assess, diagnose, and treat college students through telepsychiatry.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure students receive the most appropriate level of care.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative clinical culture focused on improving student mental health outcomes.
