About The Position

The Collaborating Physician provides clinical oversight and support to advanced practice providers (Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants) in accordance with state laws and organizational policies. This role ensures high-quality, compliant patient care through regular chart reviews, clinical guidance, and adherence to evidence-based practices. Matrix Collaborating Physicians serve as the designated collaborating or supervising physician for one or more Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. They review patient charts and clinical documentation timely to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations. They also maintain collaboration agreements and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up to date per state regulations. Additionally, they participate in periodic meetings or case reviews with NPs/PAs to discuss clinical performance, care standards, and opportunities for improvement, and stay informed of state-specific scope of practice laws and ensure compliance. The role supports the organization in maintaining a high standard of patient care through quality assurance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Current, active license in the state of practice (MD/DO)
  • Active practice in the state of Georgia
  • 3+ years of clinical experience post residency
  • Primary specialty in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
  • Currently not enrolled in the Medicare Opt-Out program

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred
