About The Position

Ross-Simons, a division of Luxury Brand Holdings, is a leading direct-to-consumer retailer of fine jewelry. We are actively seeking a ColdFusion Business Systems Developer to work on a diverse portfolio of intranet applications and internal business reporting—not customer-facing websites or e-commerce—and will be involved in ongoing maintenance and updates as well as developing new features and creating new applications. The ideal candidate will be able to work on-site at our Cranston, RI headquarters; however, we welcome candidates who are looking for remote opportunities, as well.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience programming with ColdFusion 2018/2021/2023 in a corporate environment for at least three years required
  • Must be able to create fully functional ColdFusion intranet applications from backend functions through front-end design and UI
  • Must have experience working with CFCs
  • Must be able to code and edit in pure tag-based CFML
  • Must be able to manage dataflows with XML and JSON data
  • Solid background in CSS design
  • Solid experience in JavaScript for form validation and dynamic page interactions, especially using JQuery libraries
  • Demonstrate interest in, and the ability to, meet with business users to brainstorm and define project requirements
  • Ability to write detailed emails, technical specs, and documents as part of development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle as a CF data source is a plus
  • Experience with JDA Direct Commerce, Amazon Marketplace, Shopify or other ERP/CRM systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain internal business systems and reports on a ColdFusion 2023 intranet
  • Independently organize and manage multiple ongoing projects and priorities
  • Serve as a direct point of contact for business users on a day-to-day basis, performing necessary research and analysis to ensure responses are clear, accurate, and well-supported.
  • Coordinate unit testing and QA with business users
  • Document applications, processes and functionality and include thorough, meaningful comments in code
  • Develop understanding of retail jewelry business and basic ERP/OMS dataflows to enable business users to meet their needs
  • Work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment with other developers and I.T. staff
