About The Position

Vertical Cold Storage is hiring a Warehouse Specialist to perform a wide range of warehouse duties accurately and promptly while providing service to customers. The role involves receiving, inspecting, tracking, storing, picking, packing, preparing, and shipping products; operating powered industrial vehicles; maintaining inventory records and equipment; and following safety and customer procedures. The position is available on first shift (5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) or second shift (4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m.). Work takes place in a freezer or refrigerator environment.

Requirements

Strong math skills to count and multiply accurately.
Ability to use a non-motorized pallet jack.
Ability to work in a freezer or refrigerator environment.
Ability to stand and walk regularly for eight or more hours in a day.
Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
Ability to frequently bend, twist, stoop, grip, climb or balance, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to follow safety rules and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Prior warehouse or distribution experience is desired.
Prior experience using a forklift and other motorized equipment is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Verify received and shipped items by checking identifying information, inspecting condition, and recording counts or measurements.
Identify, label, and store materials and supplies, and record inventory locations using established practices.
Identify, pull, pack, load, and secure products for shipment according to procedures.
Record units shipped using established processes.
Operate powered industrial vehicles, which may include forklifts, power jacks, and high lifts.
Maintain powered-equipment certifications through safe work practices and adherence to procedures.
Inspect material-handling equipment before use, follow operating procedures, and request repairs as needed.
Use handheld scanners and vehicle-mounted units to accurately record pallet and case locations for inventory control.
Monitor case condition and pallet integrity and report substandard or out-of-specification items to supervision.
Label cases or loads according to customer specifications.
Stack, unstack, restack, wrap, and unwrap pallets and cases according to customer specifications.
Insert or remove dividers between cases as instructed.
Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping and emptying garbage.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks and communicating positively and effectively within a team.
Meet attendance requirements.
Stretch-wrap pallets manually or using a powered machine.
Maintain a safe work environment by following safety rules and regulations, staying aware of surroundings, and operating machinery only when trained.
Support duties assigned by warehouse supervision to assist facility operations.
Perform other duties as business necessitates.
