About The Position

This person will load chemicals into or from tanks, trailers, rail cars or other various containers. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
• Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
• 3-5 years experience in an Industrial setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the barge swap out with the fleet which is handling the barge to place it at the dock.
• Inspect all ropes, bits, and cables which will be used to tie off the barge.
• Communicate with the deck hand or Captain of the vessel to let them know where to place the empty barge.
• Communicate with the room operator to payout the winch until enough slack has been deemed appropriate to hook up the winch cable to the empty barge.
• Inspect the barge for any damage, leaks or contaminants.
• Escort third party surveyor onto the barge to survey the draft of the empty barge.
• Control conveyors to account for proper loading of barge.
• Assist control room operator with positioning of barge to prevent sinking.
• Monitor condition of barge while loading.
• Other duties as assigned.
