About The Position

If you excel at communication and have a passion for railroad, the COG Railway Train Dispatcher may be the opportunity you are seeking. As a member of the Cog Railway team, this position will be responsible for directing and coordinating all railroad traffic, monitoring all rail movements and maintaining computerized records of all activities. Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains with customer and employee safety being the highest priority. You will be communicating clearly and efficiently with train engineers and conductors to maintain a strict time schedule. Also maintaining a relationship with all departments including but not limited to Retail, Parking, Ticket Office, Highway, and Aramark. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs. with assistance)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain familiarity with scheduled trains, times of arrivals and departures
  • Communicate with personnel on weather or any environmental conditions affecting train movement
  • Coordinate movement of trains according to operating plan and customer needs
  • Monitor train and track movements
  • Remotely control track switches in the depot facility
  • Report alleged violations of operating rules and any irregularity relating to the movement of trains.
  • Coordinate track usage with Engineering Department personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform meeting room inspections and make/track work orders for repair
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
