About The Position

St. Paul Elder Services is seeking a dependable and motivated Coffee Grind Cook to join our Dining Services team. In this role, you will prepare and serve a variety of breakfast, lunch, café, and catering items while providing quality food and excellent customer service to our residents, tenants, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, and takes pride in preparing quality food in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position also offers the opportunity to cross-train and pick up additional hours.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Previous cooking experience in the food service industry required.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an elder care, healthcare, senior living, or similar environment is preferred.
  • High school education is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, season, and cook meals and café items according to established recipes and menus.
  • Prepare a variety of breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches, soups, salads, and other café menu offerings.
  • Develop and communicate menus and make approved menu revisions as needed.
  • Ensure food is prepared with proper quality, quantity, texture, and serving temperatures.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient kitchen and café area.
  • Monitor inventory and communicate ordering needs to the Dining Services Team Lead.
  • Prepare food efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Maintain proper temperatures and cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, storerooms, and work areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation tasks according to established standards.
  • Dispose of trash, garbage, and recycling as required.
  • Follow proper procedures for the safe operation and care of kitchen equipment.
  • Receive and put away food and chemical deliveries, including dating and labeling items as required.
  • Report defective equipment, repairs, and supply needs to the appropriate team member.
  • Prepare and deliver catering requests according to departmental standards.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, huddles, and in-service training.
  • Follow infection prevention, food safety, workplace safety, fire, and disaster procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Support the mission, values, and person-centered care philosophy of St. Paul Elder Services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
