As a Coffee Clerk at Broulim’s, you will be responsible for operating our coffee bar and providing customers with high-quality coffee beverages and exceptional service. You will prepare a variety of coffee drinks, maintain cleanliness and organization in the coffee area, and ensure customer satisfaction with every cup.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain any required food handler's permits or certifications, as required by local regulations.
• Physical ability to lift and carry moderate loads and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and provide friendly service.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order taking and preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
• Good multitasking abilities to handle multiple orders and tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Team player mentality and ability to collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth operations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a customer service or food service role preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation is advantageous.
• Knowledge of different coffee types and brewing methods.
• Understanding of coffee equipment operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner as they approach the coffee bar.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, offering recommendations and answering any questions about coffee selections.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and drip coffee, following standard recipes and preparation techniques.
• Operate coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies, and notify management when stock is low.
• Keep the coffee bar area clean and organized, including wiping down counters, tables, and equipment, and disposing of waste properly.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately, processing payments and providing customers with receipts.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by following food safety and hygiene guidelines, including handwashing and glove usage.
• Engage with customers to build rapport and ensure their satisfaction, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
