About The Position

The COEHP Peer Mentors provide individualized support to first-year and transfer education and health students to promote academic success, sense of belonging, and persistence within the College of Education and Health Professions. In this role, Peer Mentors serve as positive role models, connectors to campus resources, partners in student success, and assist students in navigating academic and personal challenges within scope of experience and build rapport with open communication with the new COEHP Students. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

• Current COEHP student in good standing
• Must have completed at least one year at University of Arkansas Fayetteville
• Must have at least 30 credit hours by the start of duties
• Positive feelings about the University of Arkansas and the College of Education and Health Professions
• Strong communication skills in both oral and written form
• Strong Interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet students on campus
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
