Business Profile: Wyman-Gordon: Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. Position Summary: Level Three + Lead: In addition to the duties of a regular classification as a Level 3 COE Machinist, the COE Machining Team Leader responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

Requirements

Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions
Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
As required, must be able to pass any Customer required testing/machining specifications pertaining to their parts and standards.
Skill in following directions both verbal and written and in transferring instructions into action.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on a deadline.
Attention to detail
Intermediate math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and fractions for the purpose of print reading and tolerance determination.
Ability to convert metric to imperial and vice versa.
Willingness to learn
Must be a current Level 3 Machinist or above.
High school diploma or GED required; CNC operator / machinist diploma or certification preferred.
3+ years of manufacturing experience operating CNC mills or lathes preferred; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree
Must be able to work scheduled shift Friday – Sunday 6AM – 6PM. Ability to work holidays, weekends and overtime as scheduled.
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane.
Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.

Nice To Haves

Machine Tool Technology degree a definite plus.

Responsibilities

Operate and set-up machines as requested and/or needed.
Direct the daily activities of Operators and Machinists, as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
Verify designated areas of responsibility continually meet the housekeeping and 6S standards.
Ensure employees are wearing the proper PPE and adhering to the safety requirements for the position. Identify and report unsafe conditions and behaviors to Supervisor or Manager.
Verify Machinists and Operators are working to a high standard of workmanship and machining best practice.
Verify employees are complying with company policy, including but not limited to allotted break times, staggering of breaks, personal cell phone use policy, etc. Elevate any non-compliance immediately to Supervisor or Manager.
Provide employee performance feedback to Supervisor or Manager as requested.
Perform training and/or monitor employee training and OJT completion status to ensure training is completed according to management expectations and timelines.
Assist in troubleshooting, identifying root cause, and implementing process corrective actions. Immediately elevate problem to Supervisor / Manager if outside of problem-solving scope.
Verify employees are following Quality and PSA procedures and producing conforming parts.
Participate in creating and communicating efficient daily production schedules.
Monitor actual production compared to scheduled production and report any variances immediately according to escalation process. Verify causes for throughput below target are accurately documented and communicated.
Assist in identifying and communicating staffing needed to meet production requirements, and coordinate with team members to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
Conduct shift handoffs and startup meetings as requested.
When requested, ensure line walk boards are updated and accurately represent operating status and constraints.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Team Leader performance will be evaluated based on his/her team’s performance compared to goal.
