JOB SUMMARY The Coding Support is responsible for providing support to the Coding Team as needed.
Requirements
- Proficient with using Word and Excel.
- Provide clear written and verbal communication.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and be organized.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two to four years’ experience in a medical billing environment.
- Must be able pass the Super Coder exam.

- CPC-A, CPC credential preferred.
- Communicates, cooperates, and consistently functions professionally and harmoniously with all levels of supervision, co-workers, patients, visitors, and vendors.
- Demonstrates initiative, personal awareness, professionalism and integrity, and exercise confidentiality in all areas of performance.
- Follows all local, state and federal laws concerning employment to include but not limited to: I-9, Harassment, EEOC, Civil rights and ADA.
- Follows OSHA regulations, RadNet and site protocols, policies and procedures.
- Follows HIPAA, compliance, privacy, safety and confidentiality standards at all times.
Responsibilities
- Researches the various RIS systems for medical necessity, drugs, orders, ABN’s and other information needed.
- Contacts imaging centers and or hospitals when addendums or information is needed to accurately code an exam.
- Researches and resolves reports in the Transcription and Need Report queues.
- Emails Charge Corrections spreadsheets weekly.
- Emails PET contact questions from the coders.
- Reports issues, trends and/or problems to their Supervisor timely.
- Other duties as assigned.
