Coding Supervisor
About The Position
The Coding Supervisor will play a vital role in our HHS_All Regions_Central & West_Ops - Sr. Management department. They will be responsible for overseeing the coding team's performance, providing ongoing education based on audit results, and ensuring compliance with coding standards. This role requires excellent organizational skills, as the supervisor will manage daily operations and month-end data. The ideal candidate will have experience in a supervisory or management role and be comfortable communicating with clients via email and Teams calls. Minimal travel for on site visits.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of IP DRG and OP coding, including complex coding scenarios.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, for data management and analysis.
- Experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with coding education and training, or a willingness to develop these skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare industry trends and regulations.
- A positive and collaborative attitude, with a focus on team success.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the coding team, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure accurate and compliant IP DRG and OP coding for various services, including Observation, SDS, and IVR.
- Provide ongoing education and training to the coding team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Organize and manage month-end data, creating accurate invoices for clients.
- Follow up on audits to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary education initiatives.
- Communicate with clients via email and Teams calls, maintaining strong relationships.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
- Stay updated with the latest coding standards and regulations, implementing any necessary changes.
- Supervise and mentor junior coding staff, providing feedback and performance evaluations.
