About The Position

American Endovascular is an Interventional Radiology out-patient company seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Coder to join their growing team. This role involves assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes for office-based IR services. The ideal candidate must reside on the East Coast within the Eastern Time Zone, with a strong preference for Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and New Jersey.

Requirements

  • Current, valid AAPC Certification as a Certified Professional Coder.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical coding.
  • E&M coding experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of charges while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • ICD-10: 1 year (Required)
  • Interventional radiology: 1 year (Required)
  • CPC and CIRCC licensed.

Nice To Haves

  • Coding knowledge/experience specific to Interventional Radiology preferred.
  • Familiarity with CMS guidelines as well as available coding resources: i.e. AAPC.
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle and understanding of clinical and billing systems.
  • Positive attitude and outlook with the ability to be a true team player.
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the day-to-day tasks necessary to appropriately code and enter all charges related to patient services, including gathering all charges via automated and manual methods from physicians and the EMR.
