About The Position

These jobs focus on managing the financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, payment processing, financial counseling, utilization and revenue cycle analysis. These roles are responsible for translating patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into standardized medical codes. Medical coders ensure accurate coding to support billing processes, comply with regulations, and maintain the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or GED required.
  • 5+ years of relevant coding experience required.
  • Coding certification required through AHIMA or AAPC.

Nice To Haves

  • Urology Surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Translating patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into standardized medical codes.
  • Ensuring accurate coding to support billing processes.
  • Complying with regulations.
  • Maintaining the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting purposes.
  • Providing assistance and training to lower level employees.
  • Making minor adjustments to working methods and independently developing solutions to problems.
  • Explaining practices, procedures and policies to reach agreement with others outside of the Job Area.
