Requirements
- College Degree and three (3) years of coding experience or at least five (5) years of coding experience required.
- Must have a current CPC, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT and an additional specialty certification.
- Strong CPT4, HCPCS, and ICD10-CM coding skills.
- Strong knowledge of CMS rules and guidelines and ability to access, research and interpret other payer rules and guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- CPMA, CEMC, CPCI are preferred but not necessary.
- Multi-specialty coding experience, academic medical center experience and teaching/instructing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assessment of medical record documentation and appropriate capture of services through quality coding.
- Assess medical record documentation and educate providers and coders.
- Communication to providers, coders and section leaders on performance and coding and regulatory updates.
