About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Coding & Documentation Auditor (Hybrid/Remote) in our Central Administration office. Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare coding/auditing (E&M, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10).
  • Current Coding Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and/or Registered Health Information Tech (RHIT) is required.
  • Participates in continuing education units every 2 years for verification and authentication of expertise.
  • Expert knowledge of CPT procedure and ICD-10 coding for inpatient and outpatient physician settings.
  • Expert knowledge of overall State and Federal Coding Guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with coding/auditing in other multispecialty healthcare settings is a plus!
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) EPIC experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of coding and billing issues, supporting appropriate reimbursement and regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews coding-related denials, billing edits, documentation, and patient account concerns, identifying trends, performing root cause analyses, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Supports coder and provider education and serves as backup in the department for high-volume periods.
  • Works Epic coding edit work queues, resolving front-end and pre-bill edits, ensuring claims are accurate and released in a timely manner.
  • Conducts project-based targeted reviews in accordance with Medicare and payer policies and relevant regulations to identify deficiencies.
  • Supports development of coding and documentation education for providers and coding staff based on identified trends. Assists in presenting materials to relevant parties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
