Coding Compliance Educator

The Coding Compliance Educator assesses providers’ educational needs regarding coding and documentation, directs the development of regularly scheduled educational programs, and serves as the primary resource for providers on documentation and coding issues. The role also delivers coding and billing training to billing and coding specialists and providers, creates presentations and training materials, conducts coding and data quality reviews, prepares complex reports, and assists with auditing and monitoring provider coding and billing activities as needed. The role ensures coding activities comply with clinical billing standards and government regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Three years of Physician Coding/HIM and Revenue Cycle experience.
- CCA (Certified Coding Associate) certification.
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification.
- CCS-P certification.
- CPC certification.

Responsibilities
- Assess providers’ educational needs regarding coding and documentation.

- Serve as the primary resource for providers on documentation and coding issues.
- Conduct coding and billing training programs for billing and coding specialists and providers.
- Create presentations and develop learning materials, handbooks, and other training materials.
- Conduct coding and data quality reviews and prepare complex reports as required.
- Assist with auditing and monitoring coding and billing activities for Piedmont Healthcare-employed providers as needed.
- Ensure coding activities comply with clinical billing standards and government regulations.
