Coding/ Billing Associate Specialist
About The Position
A growing healthcare company is seeking an experienced Coding / Billing Associate Specialist to join its in office team. This role will focus on managing a high volume of claims while ensuring coding and billing are accurate, efficient, and completed properly. Beyond day to day coding and billing, this person will help identify issues and inefficiencies within current workflows and improve processes to create a smoother claims and reimbursement cycle. The ideal candidate has strong hands on coding experience, understands the billing process, and can spot problems before they lead to delays or denials.
Requirements
- Prior professional medical coding and billing experience required
- Strong hands on coding experience required
- Experience handling a high volume of healthcare claims
- Strong understanding of medical billing and claims processes
- Ability to identify coding errors and billing issues
- Highly detail oriented and accurate
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage a large workload and multiple claims efficiently
- Comfortable working full time in office
Nice To Haves
- Experience improving coding or billing workflows is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Handle a high volume of medical coding and billing claims
- Review claims for coding accuracy and completeness before submission
- Ensure appropriate codes are used based on documentation and services provided
- Identify coding and billing errors, discrepancies, and missing information
- Help reduce claim delays, denials, and unnecessary rework
- Review existing coding and billing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement more efficient processes to improve the overall claims experience
- Track outstanding claims and follow up on issues as needed
- Work with internal teams to resolve coding, documentation, and billing concerns
- Maintain accurate records and ensure claims are processed efficiently
- Help create consistent processes for handling a large volume of claims
