About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Professional Fee Pathology Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of pathology coding experience and be proficient in assigning accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes, and performing charge entry functions for professional pathology services. This role requires strong attention to detail, coding accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Professional Fee Pathology coding experience.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding
Strong knowledge of CPT coding for pathology services
Strong knowledge of Professional fee coding guidelines
Strong knowledge of Charge entry processes
Experience working within Epic and Optum coding systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with multiple pathology subspecialties and payer-specific requirements.
Experience with radiology coding.
Prior experience in a remote coding environment.

Responsibilities

Review pathology documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes.
Perform professional fee coding for pathology accounts in accordance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and client policies.
Complete charge entry for coded services in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure coding compliance and maintain high quality standards.
Identify and resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation issues when applicable.
Collaborate with providers, billing staff, and operational teams to address coding questions and discrepancies.
Meet established productivity, quality, and turnaround time expectations.
Maintain current knowledge of coding regulations, payer guidelines, and industry changes.
