About The Position

As the Inpatient Hospital Coder III, you will be responsible for translating health care services and procedures into standardized codes on inpatient accounts. This role involves working with Epic work quests to ensure the timely processing of coding, billing, and accounts receivable. You will also communicate with providers, coders, and clinical documentation specialists to ensure comprehensive patient record documentation. A key part of the role is to formulate, monitor, and respond to all compliant documentation clarification requests, querying providers for resolution of incomplete documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HIT/HIM OR High school diploma AND Certificate of Completion of AHIMA Coding Basics Program and Coding Assessment and Training Solutions Program
  • Must be able to pass internal coding test
  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding
  • 1 year of inpatient coding
  • CCS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • Knowledge of entire revenue cycle process
  • 3 years of inpatient coding experience
  • RHIA or RHIT certification
