About The Position

The Coder I, Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts less than $15,000 and any outpatient accounts, provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinic and Official Coding Guidelines. Groups discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate DRG for reimbursement. Communicates with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues. Eligible remote states include NC, FL, GA, SC, SD, TN, TX and VA. Requirements

  • Registered Health Information Administrator Or Registered Health Information Technician Or Certified Professional Coder Or Certified Outpatient Coder Or Certified Coding Specialist Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree Health Information Management Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management Preferred
  • 2 Years Coding - Inpatient Preferred
