About The Position
Conducts reviews of billed services for the VMG enterprise against clinical documentation and recommends corrections. Assists with reviews and responses to payor and governmental audits of billed services, supports the CBO in responding to payor denials and patient inquiries related to billed services, and researches new coding guidelines and codes. Also assists the staff of VHS corporate compliance.
Requirements
- CPC (AAPC) certification required.
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines required.
- Extensive knowledge of reimbursement systems required.
- Eight to ten years of experience and expertise in ICD-10-CM coding; a college degree may be substituted for years of experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding.
- Ability to relate to people and work closely with physicians and other VMG staff.
- Computer skills and knowledge of practice management software.

- A degree in Health Services Management, Business, or another related field is preferred.
