Buncombe County is hiring a Code Enforcement Division Manager. This individual will report to the Permits and Inspections Director. The Permits and Inspections Department is a team of thirty employees. The primary goal of the Permits and Inspections Department is to protect the life, safety and welfare of its residents by administering and enforcing the North Carolina State Building Codes as adopted by the NC Building Code Council. This position requires the candidate to possess four Standard Certifications in Building, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical from the North Carolina Code Qualification Board. This position will work with a multi- departmental team to collaborate on enforcement issues of violations based on different state and local regulations. This is a unique team building opportunity for a candidate that has great team building skills. This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish common goals. Buncombe County Permits and Inspections provide services for all unincorporated areas of Buncombe County and, through contractual agreement, provides these services for the towns of Biltmore Forest, Weaverville, Montreat, and Woodfin. This position is Hybrid. The purpose of this position is to provide division leadership and direction by developing and administering programs, activities, and systems that support and promote high-performance strategies and help the department meet its priorities, goals, and objectives.
