About The Position

DPP is seeking a COBOL Developer for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry. This role involves supporting mission-critical healthcare claims processing applications and related business functions. The developer will analyze business requirements, design and implement solutions, and support these critical applications. Responsibilities include creating and modifying COBOL programs, JCL processes, DB2 queries, and CICS transactions to implement new functionality, resolve production issues, and support ongoing business initiatives. Participation in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately one week every 8-12 weeks) is required after onboarding. Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work may be necessary for production issues, implementations, or business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree; OR 4 years of job-related work experience ; OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree.
  • 4 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
  • COBOL (batch and online application development)
  • JCL (Job Control Language) (batch processing, job scheduling, and restart/recovery)
  • DB2 (SQL development, database access, and performance tuning)
  • CICS (online transaction processing and support)

  • IBM MQ (MQ Series) (application messaging and integration)

  • Healthcare payer experience, particularly claims adjudication, eligibility, benefits, pricing, provider, or pharmacy systems.
