Job Title COBOL Developer What does a successful Cobol Developer do at Fiserv? As a Cobol Developer at Fiserv, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain complex software components of our business application systems. You will play a crucial role in creating solutions that enhance our clients' financial services, aligning with our mission to enable financial technology at the speed of life. You will collaborate with a team of like-minded professionals to innovate, inspire, and deliver excellence in financial technology.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software application development.
  • 5+ years of experience with COBOL in a mainframe environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with MVS/JCL.
  • 5+ years of experience with DB2, SQL, CICS, and VSAM.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience with SAS or WPS.
  • 3+ years of experience with formalized software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Strong experience with design concepts, philosophies, and tools for application development.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience with storage and retrieval of information in databases and other indexed storage methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain moderately complex to complex software components of the business application system utilizing available developer tools.
  • Create, execute, and review test plans, defining and establishing test data for thorough testing processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive software documentation to ensure clarity and ease of future maintenance.
  • Query and report system data using advanced reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with business units and senior IT staff to define and document system changes, obtaining necessary approvals.
