TECKpert is supporting one of our clients, a government agency in South Florida, in identifying a highly experienced Senior Systems Analyst Programmer to support mission-critical legacy systems. This role focuses on mainframe application development, systems analysis, and production support within an enterprise z/OS environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in IDMS, COBOL, JCL, and mainframe utilities, combined with strong analytical and communication skills.

Perform systems analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of mainframe applications.
Develop and support batch and online applications using IDMS and COBOL in a z/OS environment.
Maintain and enhance IDMS database structures, screen mappings, and application logic.
Create and manage JCL for batch processing and job scheduling.
Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes in a controlled environment.
Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Support application documentation and ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
Collaborate with IT teams and end users to ensure reliable system performance and service delivery.

Hands-on experience with IDMS utilities and components, including online and batch processing.
Strong understanding of mainframe job control, scheduling, and production operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
