About The Position
We're hiring a COBOL Developer to join our team in Columbia, SC. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday. Work Authorization: U.S. citizens and Green Card holders only. Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates. Candidates must be able to work on our W2.
Requirements
- 4 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience
- Proficiency in COBOL (batch and online application development)
- Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) for batch processing, job scheduling, and restart/recovery
- Strong skills in DB2 (SQL development, database access, and performance tuning)
- Knowledge of CICS (online transaction processing and support)
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and design solutions to meet those needs
- Create and modify COBOL programs, JCL processes, DB2 queries, and CICS transactions
- Implement new functionality and resolve production issues
- Support ongoing business initiatives
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule after completion of the onboarding period
- Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work to support production issues, implementations, or business needs
