What you’ll be challenged to do: As a Coatings Inspector, you will support municipal water tank inspection projects throughout Long Island, NY. This role is ideal for someone with AMPP/NACE certification and hands on field experience in water tank or related municipal infrastructure inspection as it pertains to AWWA Standards and Methodologies. This position requires traveling throughout Long Island, NY for municipal water infrastructure projects In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following: Perform field inspections of elevated and ground water storage tanks, including surface preparation and coatings application. Document daily job-site activities through detailed written reports and comprehensive photographic records. Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and industry standards. Communicate findings clearly with project managers, contractors, and agency personnel. Support multiple active construction or rehabilitation projects as needed. What you will bring to our firm: Experience working on municipal water infrastructure projects in the Northeast region. AMPP certification: CIP Level 1, minimum Strong understanding of coatings systems, surface preparation standards, and inspection methodologies in accordance with AMPP, ASTM, and AWWA Standards and Practices. Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce thorough daily inspection reports and photographic records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows-based reporting systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Capability to climb ladders, access elevated tanks, and enter confined spaces as required. Ability to lift, carry, and use inspection tools and equipment on job sites. Ability to undergo and pass a physical with respirator fit test. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation The ability to climb structures and/or tanks in excess of 150’ in height. Remaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of time Lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs. Driving to and from project sites Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document. Must be willing to work overtime, when required by the project assignment. Daily travel should be expected.
