About The Position

Responsible for demonstrating operator efficiency, safety and quality by thorough understanding of all Coater stations by following the emulsion & silicone coating processes and standards. This role requires the ability to perform and understand all positions on the Coater to meet production requirements, perform required quality control testing at the machine and make decisions to change the process per results, and produce the product on the shop order within process specifications. The operator will also report all required information into E2000 to relieve inventories properly, clean the machine and areas as required to maintain a superior level of cleanliness, and perform all required machine preventive maintenance tasks as required by the maintenance department. The role assumes responsibility for the operation of the entire machine while running, including loading face and backing material into the machine, ensuring correct raw material is run per the order, compounding adhesive, release, topcoat and primer for the coater per the process specification, and unloading tankers of adhesive and performing QA testing per specifications. Additionally, the operator will operate a forklift and RF gun to move material, perform cycle counts on chemicals and compounds, and complete all daily 5S and cleaning requirements of the Coater. The position requires adherence to all health, safety, and housekeeping procedures, policies and practices, consistently working in a safe manner about self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems, supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, and communicating professionally at all times. Participation in shift and team meetings is expected, and availability to work overtime is required. All other functions and duties as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory control software.
